Car Owners Club ("we", "us", "our"), operated by PearlBrains Limited, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Car Owners Club app, you agree to the practices described here.

Profile information — profile photo, bio, location, and details about your vehicle(s) such as make, model, and year.
Content you create — posts, comments, images, car listings, event details, and messages.
Payment information — when you subscribe, payments are processed by our third-party payment provider (Pesapal). We do not store your full card or mobile money details on our servers.
Device information — device type, operating system, and a push-notification token used to deliver notifications.
Usage information — how you interact with the app, to help us improve it.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and membership.
To provide the app's features — feed, marketplace, events, clubs, chat, and notifications.
To process your subscription payments.
To send you notifications relevant to your activity (likes, follows, messages, events).
To keep the community safe and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
To improve and develop new features.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed:

With other members — your profile, posts, listings, and public activity are visible to other members as part of the community experience.
With service providers — such as our payment processor (Pesapal) and hosting/infrastructure providers, only to the extent needed to operate the app.
For legal reasons — if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our members or the public.

4. Data Storage & Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted passwords and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights & Choices

You can view and update your profile information at any time in the app.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
You can control push notifications through your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Car Owners Club is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
